Objectives

After successful completion of this course, the participant will be able to transfer data more accurately and quickly.  Six skills are addressed in the areas of perceiving, hearing, grouping, remembering, transferring, and proofing numbers.  In addition, trainees learn ergonomic exercises to reduce stress and eye fatigue and to increase their overall productivity at the workstation.

Many routine tasks require employees to correctly key, record, transfer, or check data.  Number Skills® trains employees to increase accuracy and speed in performing number-handling functions.

Course Description

Number Skills® is a 10-hour program usually divided into two-hour modules taught on five consecutive days.  The training uses visual exercises (on filmstrips or videotape) to improve rapid perception of numbers and of letter and number combinations.  Number patterns are analyzed and drilled so that trainees can quickly and accurately identify and transfer data to screens or documents.  In addition, audio tapes develop the skill of accurate listening for numbers.

Trainers are certified to teach Number Skills® in five hours.  They learn course methodology as well as workstation analysis, and how to apply ergonomic techniques for stress reduction.

More than 350,000 trainees have taken Number Skills® and achieved measurable improvement time after time.  The course has been translated into many languages including French, German, and Spanish.  References are available upon request.
